In the history of human naval development, there have been countless wrong paths, most of which have been washed away by the long river of history. However, we are fortunate to still have access to a strange design of the Soviet Union that wanted to be proficient in everything, but ended up with a strange design that looked like nothing : the aircraft carrier cruiser. This strange product of " greed for big and perfect " is a funny product made by the former Soviet military high-level officials. It has been criticized countless times. The typical example is the " Kiev-class aircraft carrier " built by the former Soviet Union from the late 1970s to the mid -1980s . Today, the first ship of the Kiev class, the Kiev, is located in the Tianjin Binhai Aircraft Carrier Theme Park.

In the public's perception, the main means of attack of an aircraft carrier should be carrier-based aircraft carrying weapons. However, Soviet aircraft carriers do not emphasize the combat effectiveness of carrier-based aircraft, but use anti-ship missiles as the main weapon of aircraft carriers. This strange idea also comes from the Soviets' harsh geographical conditions. The four main seas of the Soviet Union (the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea, the Arctic Ocean, and the Pacific Ocean) are all separated. The national conditions determine that once a war breaks out, these four fleets can only fight on their own and cannot cooperate with each other. In this context, the main task of the Red Navy has always been to guard the motherland's coastline rather than to fight fleet battles in the open sea with the NATO Navy. Warships can operate under the cover of shore-based aircraft and missiles. In this way, the Red Navy does not need or need a " regular aircraft carrier " , which is also the fundamental reason for the strange design of Soviet aircraft carriers.

However, even so, the Kiev-class aircraft carrier still gave the Soviet Union's enemies a huge shock with its majestic appearance, which affected the creative ideas of writers at that time. There is a very popular best-selling novel in Japan about World War III called "Minsk Attack". The Soviet Union occupied Japan, Japan established an exile government in China, China and the United States resisted the Soviet Union and aided Japan, and finally the Soviet Union failed and disintegrated ... This novel was published in 1981 , when China and Japan were in the honeymoon period of friendship. Konosuke Matsushita promised to make the greatest efforts for China's reform and opening up. Thinking about it now, it seems like a lifetime ago ...

The Third World War did not break out in the 1980s , but the Soviet Union still disintegrated. The Kiev-class aircraft carriers were scattered all over the country. The first ship, the Kiev, came to China in 2000 and was transformed into an amusement park. The Minsk was bought by Daewoo Heavy Industries of South Korea in 1995 , and was bought by a Chinese company a few years later. It was converted into a large military theme park and moored in Dapeng Bay, Shenzhen. In August 2024 , a fire broke out during the transformation process. Today, we can only review the various pasts of the " Minsk Attack " on the Kiev.
