Liaoning Provincial Museum today

Museums are the eyes of a city, and they are also synonymous with its glorious and miserable history. History books can be " little girls who can be dressed up by anyone " , but silent cultural relics can bring us closer to the most authentic history.

Liaoning is a land with a long history and a long-standing culture. Liaoning Museum is also well-known at home and abroad for its rich collections and exquisite collections. Its collection of cultural relics totals 112,000 pieces (sets), including "Wang Xizhi's Family Calligraphy in Tang Dynasty", Zhang Xu's "Four Ancient Poems in Cursive Script", "Ladies with Flowers in Hairpins", "Lady Guoguo's Spring Outing", "Thousand Characters in Cursive Script" and "Picture of Auspicious Cranes" by Emperor Huizong of the Northern Song Dynasty, and other fine Chinese ancient calligraphy and painting art, as well as Hongshan Culture jade, Shang and Zhou Dynasty cellar bronzes, Liao Dynasty ceramics, steles and inscriptions from past dynasties, and currencies from past dynasties. Therefore, if you want to understand the city of Liaoning and appreciate its history, you might as well follow the captain of the rowing team to the Liaoning Provincial Museum.

Team leader

Special contributor and speaker of Xunji Lecture Hall

The first generation of military fans, second-hand poets, third-rate crosstalk fans, four major modern navy enthusiasts, five Ling young men, six pieces of bath scrubbers. The main lecture columns are "The Spear That Never Sets - British Royal Navy" and "Xunji Xiaojiang".

Event Highlights

No.1 Shang Dynasty Ding with Animal Face Pattern

It is older than the Houmuwu Ding from the Shang Dynasty. It was unearthed in 1978 and its casting time can be traced back to about 3,200 years ago. This tripod is of certain importance to the new generation of Shang Dynasty bronze ware and is a precious standard. According to archaeological experts, the discovery of this tripod can prove that the " northern land " in the Western Zhou Dynasty already included today's Liaoning. In other words, more than 3,000 years ago, the Shang culture had already " taken root " in Liaoning.

NO.2 duck-shaped glass

This is a special piece of glassware. It came all the way from ancient Rome to the war-torn Northern Yan Kingdom, and then was buried underground for more than 1,500 years. This is the duck-shaped glass jug currently in the new building of the Liaoning Museum .

The duck-shaped glass pot unearthed from the tomb of Feng Sufu of the Yan Dynasty in the northwestern Liaoning Province is made of transparent dark and light green glass and is formed by the pipe blowing method. It is the only one of its kind in the world. The pipe blowing glass forming method was invented by the ancient Roman Empire in the 1st century BC. Later, various glassware made with this technology came to China through the Silk Road and were regarded as treasures by the rulers and kept secret.

This Liaoning Provincial Museum event will start from the " Ancient Liaoning " exhibition hall, which will take everyone to understand the status of Liaoning Province in Chinese history. In particular, the fifth exhibition hall of ancient Liaoning will focus on the history of the rise of the Jurchens in the Baishan and Heishui, and finally entered the Central Plains through uninterrupted wars. In this exhibition hall, we will see some weapons equipped by the Qing army in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. Little did we know that the Qing army's entry into the era of hot weapons was actually " a bloody case caused by a chicken " ; we will also see the model of the Ming Dynasty city here. The Ningyuan City in Liaodong is the wall of sighs that Nurhachi and Huang Taiji could never cross. So, how difficult was it to fight the ancient city that made people so troubled?

In other exhibition areas, the captain will also take you to learn about the changes in ancient Chinese currency. In a country lacking precious metals, what did the ancestors use for transactions? Why is it said that the " Jiaozi " paper money that appeared in the Song and Yuan dynasties was not a great invention of the ancients, but a way for the rulers to plunder the people without any cost?

These questions will be answered in detail by the rowing captain at the offline event at Liaoning Museum. What are you waiting for? Hurry up and sign up!
