Event Highlights
1. Imperial Ancestral Temple
In the Imperial Ancestral Temple of the Shenyang Imperial Palace, not only the four ancestors of the Jianzhou Jurchens are enshrined, but also five ministers who are not only second to the Beile, but also have the privilege of listening to the state affairs together with the Khan. So, who are these five people, and why do they have such an honor?
2. The Dazheng Hall, the Ten Kings Pavilion, and the French Cannons
The earliest building of Shenyang Imperial Palace was the office area of the Qing emperor, which was closely related to the early Jurchen tribal habits. Their traditional habit was to have an office area in the west and a daily living area in the east. However, Shenyang Imperial Palace was not the earliest capital of the Jurchens. Their capital was called Hetuala, and later moved to Liaoyang, which was the most prosperous city in Liaodong at that time. Why did Nurhaci leave the glamorous world of Liaoyang and move the capital to Shenyang?
The Ten Kings Pavilion, located on both sides of the Dazheng Hall in the Shenyang Imperial Palace, was the office of the Eight Banners leaders of the Qing Dynasty. This building retains the form of camping and office work in the early Jurchen tribal period. So how did the Eight Banners rise? How did they disappear?
In the long-term tug-of-war with the Ming Dynasty, the Jurchens also realized that relying on the Eight Banners Army's fearlessness and bravery alone would not work. It was not until they got the French machine, a " weapon of mass destruction " that allowed the Qing army to surpass the Ming Dynasty in technology, that this thing could influence and even determine the battlefield situation. So, how did the Qing army get this weapon? When they met the European army at the same time, who was better?
3. Chongzheng Hall
Chongzheng Hall is the palace where Huang Taiji held court, and it is also the highest-ranking and most important building in the Shenyang Imperial Palace. As the only Qing emperor to ascend the throne in the Shenyang Imperial Palace, how did Huang Taiji take power into his own hands? How did the military democracy in the early Qing Dynasty become the supreme power of the emperor?
4. Five Great Palaces and Solon Pole
The Five Great Palaces were where Huang Taiji and his concubines lived at the time, which was equivalent to the harem of the Forbidden City. In order to strengthen their own power, the emperors of the Qing Dynasty made many friends and weakened their enemies. They even sold their bodies and married Mongolian nobles. This tradition of marriage between Manchu and Mongolian nobles was not abandoned even after the Manchus entered the Central Plains, and has been passed down.
Was the love between Huang Taiji and Hai Lanzhu true or false? Why did the Southern Ming fabricate the gossip about Xiaozhuang and Dorgon? Why did the Jurchens believe in shamans who performed " shaman dances " ? Why do the names of the Jurchens sound simple and crude? The Qing Dynasty once had the most elite unit, called the " Sauron Cavalry " . When you see what happened to this unit, you will understand that such a dynasty deserved to perish.
5. Wensui Pavilion, stage
The Wensu Pavilion in the Shenyang Imperial Palace once stored the highest achievement of Emperor Qianlong's literary governance , the Siku Quanshu. However, many of these books were destroyed in the war. So, is the Siku Quanshu approved by Emperor Qianlong the pride of the Chinese nation? Is it an important contribution of the Chinese nation to human civilization?
Why did the Kangxi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong dynasties launch a literary inquisition? Why were all the wise and holy rulers in history books so sensitive? Besides loving to listen to operas, why did Emperor Qianlong personally edit the operas?
