Tianjin Museum

Tianjin Museum is a comprehensive historical and art museum, its predecessor dating back to the Tianjin Museum established in 1918, making it one of the earliest museums in China. Its collection is characterized by its equal emphasis on Chinese art from various dynasties, modern historical documents, and local historical materials. It currently possesses nearly 200,000 artifacts, including ancient bronzes, ceramics, calligraphy, paintings, jade, seals, scholar's objects, oracle bones, currency, stamps, Dunhuang manuscripts, bamboo, wood, ivory and horn artifacts, local folk crafts, and modern historical documents, as well as 200,000 books and materials. It opened to the public free of charge at the end of 2007 and was designated a National First-Class Museum in 2008.

The new Tianjin Museum features three permanent exhibitions: "The Origins of Tianjin's Culture" (Ancient Tianjin), "A Century of Chinese History Through Tianjin" (Modern Tianjin), and "Treasures of the World—Exhibition of Fine Cultural Relics from the Museum's Collection." These exhibitions highlight Tianjin's historical significance and important position in China's modernization process, as well as the rich material heritage accumulated by the Chinese nation over thousands of years of civilization. To coincide with the museum's opening in 2012, leveraging its extensive collection of art from various dynasties, eight special thematic exhibitions were curated, showcasing calligraphy, painting, porcelain, jade, auspicious culture, scholar's objects, and folk art.

●Children under 6 years old are not recommended to participate. Minors aged 6-14 and seniors over 70 years old must be accompanied by a guardian.
